Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk

August 6, 2018

I’ve been volunteering with the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego for 4 years since I was diagnosed. They have an amazing staff and an awesome support group. Every year, they host an event called Sharon’s Ride. It is a 15 mile bike ride (promoting helmet safety) and a 5k walk/run. I enjoy attending this event because it builds a strong epilepsy community and promotes epilepsy awareness. It also unites people living with epilepsy so they can share their stories.

About Sharon’s Ride

They have hosted the event for about 18 years and it was created to honor the memory of Sharon Rosenfeld, a nurse and teacher who worked to better the lives of individuals with epilepsy. I’ve done the Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk for 3 years! Every year, I have more friends/family/coworkers that join my team. My team is getting bigger and bigger every year. I am so thankful for those who’ve supported me and donated to this event. It truly means a lot.

The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego hosts a lot of other events. They have served the San Diego community since 1954, offering advocacy and counseling for families, children and adults, seizure first aid training, expressive Arts therapy, summer camp for kids and teens and a variety of supportive services. All the services are free and are available to anyone whose life is touched by epilepsy.

Here is my Team Page in 2018.

I raised $3,025. This is the most I ever have donated. THANK YOU for all the donations! Until next year…
